Joon studies Computer Science at Harvard College, designing intelligent systems with Deep Learning models. In 2015, he served in the Republic of Korea Army 26th Mechanized Infantry Division as Intelligence staff and was deployed to Lebanon as a United Nations Peacekeeper in Hezbollah-Israeli conflict zone (UNIFIL) before being honorably discharged as sergeant. Joon is also the founder of Raise Uganda Now Inc., a non-profit organization that runs an orphanage in Nankoma, Uganda.
In his free time, Joon travels, writes, enjoys triathlons, and seeks beauty in the profoundly mundane.
Currently, Joon is working in Berkeley at Boltzmann on developing NLP tools for a range of application.
